ReachMD Announces A New Programming Partnership With APSARD, American
Professional Society for ADHD and Related Disorders
New Programming Series “ADHD Across the Lifespan” Launched April 20, 2009

CHICAGO – May 4, 2009 – ReachMD, an innovative new-media communications platform for medical professionals, is proud to partner with APSARD to bring “ADHD Across the Lifespan” to thousands of medical professionals.

ADHD Across the Lifespan explores new research and provides guidance on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with ADHD. With an estimated 276,000 healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and pediatricians, responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of approximately 7 million individuals with diagnosed ADHD, ADHD Across the Lifespan, is designed to help healthcare professionals improve patient outcomes. ADHD Across the Lifespan airs on XM Satellite Radio Channel 160 and via simulcast on ReachMD Online at www.reachmd.com.

ADHD Across the Lifespan is hosted by two leaders with extensive backgrounds in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in adults – Dr. Lenard A. Adler and Dr. Vatsal Thakkar. Dr. Lenard A. Adler is the director of the adult ADHD program in the department of psychiatry at New York University (NYU) School of Medicine in New York, New York. He is also professor of psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, at the NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Adler has been a principle contributor to numerous new treatment trials in ADHD and in the development of new scales to diagnose and evaluate symptoms of adult ADHD. Dr. Vatsal Thakkar is the Director of the Graduate Medical Education Wellness Team at New York University (NYU) and clinical assistant professor also at NYU School of Medicine. In 2006, Dr. Thakkar completed two textbooks on psychiatry, which serve as primers on mental health for a young adult audience.

ReachMD began airing “ADHD Across the Lifespan” April 20, 2009 on XM Channel 160 the first and only radio channel for medical professionals, and online at www.reachmd.com.

“There is a significant unmet need among healthcare professionals for better education about ADHD. It is a complex disorder – a serious neurodevelopmental condition often accompanied by other learning, cognitive, and behavioral disorders. Untreated ADHD, especially in adolescence and adulthood, places a huge burden on patients and those close to them due to failed relationships, unemployment, substance abuse, personal injuries, and costing billions of dollars for governments, insurers, and taxpayers. I am proud to host “ADHD Across the Lifespan” to help bridge that educational gap”, says Dr. Lenard Adler.

“Partnering with key medical societies like APSARD enables ReachMD to bring world renown leaders in very specific medical areas,” says Gary Epstein, CEO of ReachMD. “ReachMD is pleased to host key thought leaders in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD including Dr. Mark Stein, Director of HALP Clinic and ADHD Clinical Research Center at University of Illinois Chicago, Dr. Michael Manos, Head, Center for Behavioral Health at the Cleveland Clinic, and many more to share their expertise about this important condition”.
